Disaster Preparedness Training

One of the initiatives identified during the prefeasibility phase of the project was the targeted disaster risk management training.  The training took place from 16 to 23 June 2023 and kicked off with an introductory session on the fundamentals of the Disaster Risk Management. This was followed by a series of sessions on conducting a Disaster Risk Assessment and lastly a session on Disaster Preparedness, Response and Recovery.

The aim of this initiative was to create a better understanding and to build the necessary skills to support the following:

• The management, monitoring and updating of the disaster risk profile; and

• The implementation of the Multi-Hazard Disaster Preparedness Plan (MHDPP).

Follow up training will be held in June 2024.
